Your Time Is NOW!!!...
I hope you are enjoying your day and the blessings of the Lord that have been bestowed upon you. I just wanted to offer some encouragement by informing you that YOUR TIME IS NOW. Whatever it is you are hoping to accomplish, whether it be musically, on the job, in your family, or relationship with God, this is the time to make it happen. The next phase of your development and growth begins with you. Wow!! I'm actually ministering to myself!!
Mold your surroundings: I have had some MOMs (Minister Of Music) tell me that they are frustrated because their music department isn't what they want it to be. I ask them, "Well, are your musicians saved?" ... (MOM) "Yes AND filled with the Holy Ghost." ... (ME) "Ok, are they on time for rehearsals?" ... (MOM) "Oh Yes, I have no problems with them. They actually show up early for every rehearsal." ... (ME) "Ahh I see, they want more money than the church and afford.") ... (MOM) "Well No, they all play for free and actually don't want to get paid. They do it because they love giving their gift back to the Lord" ... (ME) "Hmmm. Then what's the problem?" ... (MOM) "They aren't the best players but they can carry a tune". At that moment, I would tell them that the only reason that they are frustrated is because they choose to be frustrated. There are so many MOMs out there that would love to be in a situation where they can grow and mold and shape something that WANTS to be molded. Music Ministry is about more than presenting the "perfect" concert or performance, it's about putting into the atmosphere the spirit and praise of music to the glorification of God.
This applies to whatever area of life you are struggling with. Look at the areas you think are lacking and figure out how you can turn it around to be a blessing to you, your family, friends, and anyone else that comes into your path.

Hey...I would love to have this MOM's situation. I am the only player at my church. I get paid, but it is only because my Pastor insists on doing it as a practice for the church. (practice of giving) I would love to have more people to play with me. Stop complaining folks if you have people to play with you. Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither will your music department. It takes dedication from you and persistence. Let's not forget love and compassion. YOU CAN get so wrapped up in performance that you leave no room for the Holy Spirit. Be Blessed.

The MOM could possibly be my MOM. He is the most advanced musician, and as such, he doesnt share any music that we are going to play. He expects us to catch on by ear. This is very frustrating because we have a desire to learn, but we dont get any help.

Well said; however what if you have youth that are not saved but can play really well & they go out clubbing etc, should they be playing in main services - if so how can they flow with the Holy Spirit or Minister?
